Ladies and Gentlemen, your (tentative) Florida Gators 2009 Football Schedule:
September 5 Charleston Southern, at home.
September 12 Troy, at home.
September 19 Tennessee, at home.
September 26 Kentucky, away.
October 10 LSU, away.
October 17 Arkansas (Homecoming)
October 24 Mississippi State, at home
October 31 World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party
November 7 Vandy, at home.
November 14 South Carolina, away.
November 21 FIU, at home.
November 28 Florida State, at home
Wow, what a fluff schedule. LSU away is always a scary game. Georgia should still be strong next year...
...and...
huh.
Charleston Southern, FIU, Troy? That's, uhm, exhausting. And also FSU has lost its luster in recent years. We're pretty underwhelmed by the out of conference schedule. We much preferred playing a respectable WAC team, Hawaii, and traditional superpower UM.

I had thought Florida was playing UCF in 09?
What a cupcake schedule. This is a good way to NOT get a BCS birth in 2009. Look at Georgia's schedule. Non-conf games against some tough opponents. I'd hate to be passed over for a BSC championship because we played wussy schools like Troy and Charleston Southern (who the XXX are they?)
Interestingly, in '08 UM opened their season by demolishing Charleston Southern...and look where that got them. Who plans these schedules? FIU must be thrilled to have a chance to make some money being punching bags at the swamp.
This schedule will help them into the BCS more than it will hurt them, provided they do what is expected of them. They will begin the season as the number one team in every human poll. So as long as they win every game, they will play for the championship. If, however, they pull an Ol' Miss again, no Tebow speech will save them from this schedule.
